Rin and Seri’s Cat-and-Dog Token Parade

Rin and Seri, Inseparable
B1Exhibition(0/10)

Is your Commander table missing a touch of floof? Maybe what you need is a riot of tails, whiskers, and the relentless pitter-patter of paws. Enter the Rin and Seri, Inseparable deck: a pawsitively charming brew that’s become a DeckStir community darling for its wholesome token mayhem, low-stress gameplay, and sheer pettable personality.

The Commander

Rin and Seri, Inseparable are the quintessential good boys and girls of Magic’s Naya color pie. For three mana (R/G/W), you get a 4/4 that turns every Cat you cast into a Dog token, and every Dog into a Cat token. That’s two animals for every one card, creating an ever-growing menagerie! Oh, and did we mention their activated ability? For three mana, you can tap Rin and Seri to deal damage to any target equal to the number of Dogs you control and gain life equal to the number of Cats. It’s not just cute—it’s surprisingly effective at nipping threats (and opponents) in the bud.

Game Plan

This deck’s plan is simple: cast Cats and Dogs, get double the furballs, go wide, and swing for the win! The deck is packed with creatures like Regal Caracal, Pack Leader, and Leonin Warleader to buff your growing herd. Adorned Pouncer and Alpine Watchdog are here to ensure both tribes are well-represented, while Pride Sovereign can turn a modest board into a feline stampede.

Token support shines with cards like Anointed Procession and Cathars’ Crusade, turning every Rin or Seri trigger into an avalanche of tokens and counters. Shared Summons and Eladamri’s Call fetch your favorite lords, while Secure the Wastes and March of the Multitudes can clog the board with enough paws to shame even the most committed dog-walker.

Removal and utility keep things interactive and friendly. Swords to Plowshares and Beast Within deal with troublemakers, while Altar of Dementia provides a spicy alternate win-con for when combat stalls. Don’t expect stacks, lockdowns, or infinite shenanigans here—just lots of creatures, synergy, and the occasional heroic bark or meow.

Power & Bracket

Firmly in the Bracket 1, Power Level 4/10 camp, this deck is casual and proud of it. With no infinite combos or oppressive prison pieces, you’ll rarely see a “feel-bad” moment. Instead, you get interactive games where the average CMC of 2.28 keeps the action flowing without blowing anyone out. If you want to win on turn four or lock the table out, look elsewhere. Notable inclusions like Heroic Intervention, Soul Warden, and Path to Exile keep things running smoothly, but the main draw is the synergy between Cats, Dogs, and a commander that rewards you for casting either.

Game Changers here are more about synergy than raw power: Cathars’ Crusade can snowball a board out of control, while Regal Caracal and Pack Leader can make your army truly formidable (and adorable). The deck’s restraint—no tutors except creature-finders, no infinite loops—earns it community respect and repeat plays.

Should You Build It?

If you love tribal decks, adorable themes, and lots of interaction without oppressive swings, this Rin and Seri deck could be your next favorite. It’s perfect for introducing new players, building a table full of memorable moments, or just enjoying Magic’s lighter side. Not for cutthroat meta tables, but if you believe Magic should be fun first and fierce second, give this one a home. You’ll rarely have so many reasons to say “Good boy!” or “Good cat!” for top-decking a token maker.
